The Georgia-Cumberland Conference is excited to share that they will be supporting Chattanooga’s “7 Bridges Marathon” as the presenting sponsor starting this year and beyond. The conference goal in sponsoring the Seventh-day Adventist 7 Bridges Marathon is to provide a community service opportunity for the 29 congregations in the Chattanooga area and to link public awareness with other nearby Seventh-day Adventist organizations: Southern Adventist University, Collegedale Academy, six elementary schools, the Samaritan Center, and Cohutta Springs Conference Center and Youth Camp.
"Let's be clear," Wright continued, "this is a community service of our church. Yes, we value name recognition, but we are not seeking to turn this into a religious event or limit participants to Seventh-day Adventists. CHI Memorial is pleased to announce it has received a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The most common overall hospital quality star rating is three stars. Only 20 percent of the 4,599 hospitals included in the survey received a four-star rating. CHI Memorial scored above the national average in mortality, safety of care, readmission, and patient experience.
The overall rating shows how well an individual hospital is performing compared to other hospitals in the U.S., on average. CMS uses data regularly reported by hospitals and summarizes up to 64 quality measures into a star rating. This rating is designed to help individuals, family members and care givers compare hospitals and easily understand complex quality information.

Medal of Honor Heritage Center
The Charles H. Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center memorializes the valorous actions of the recipients of our nation’s highest military award and promotes the history and character associated with their gallantry, from the First Medals forward.
Here in the Chattanooga area, we are the stewards of hallowed ground where 33 Medals of Honor were awarded—from the blood-soaked fields of Chickamauga to Missionary Ridge to the stirring site of the Battle Above the Clouds. Yet, what even many history-minded people don’t realize is that we are also entrusted with the birthplace of our nation’s most treasured military honor: the Medal of Honor.
Not far from here, the daring actions of Andrews Raiders during “The Great Locomotive Chase” resulted in the first Medals of Honor being bestowed upon 19 selfless Union soldiers.
Furthermore, the Chattanooga National Cemetery is the final resting place for eight of Andrews Raiders, including four of the initial Medal of Honor recipients.
